UX Researcher · HCI Specialist
I enjoy understanding user needs, and creating intuitive tools that translate research into meaningful, human-centered experiences.
Hey, I am Jose Vigil. I have a degree in Informatics with a focus on Human-Computer Interaction from the University of California, Irvine. Through my studies in Informatics I have learned to combine computer science, human-centered design, and user research in order to create user-focused products.
I have worked on several web and mobile projects with a strong focus on usability and overall user-experience. My work includes BetterBelli, a dietary app, and HSANext, an educational website for Health Saving accounts - built utilizing tools and languages such as HTML, CSS, Figma, Bootstrap, etc. Through these projects I have learned and picked up on many technical skills, however what I enjoy the most is the collaborative and research oriented side of product development - such as cross-functional teamwork to UX research and research analysis.
I am currently pursuing a career in the tech industry with a primary focus on UX, where I hope to collaborate closely with users and developers in order to create intuitive, user-centered experiences. I enjoy understanding the user's pain-points and needs, and translating them into meaningful, thoughtful product decisions.
Outside of UX and HCI, I am also interested in breaking into the IT sector of the tech industry. As of right now I am currently looking to possibly learn a lot more of IT Helpdesk position roles, and work my way up to possible different areas in the IT sector such as CyberSecurity. I am interested in taking courses and earning my CompTIA A+ certificate soon and hopefully learning more about IT aside from just technical support.
I am also drawn in the area of Product Management and wish to also possibly earn my PM or Scrum certificate in this area. My studies in Informatics have given me some of the skills that are constantly utilized in project management such as cross-functional collaboration, product management methodologies, and other relevant skills that can easily transfer over to such a role.
I am an aspiring UX researcher with a degree in Informatics. I love understanding a user's perspective and opinion when it comes to product development. I believe that without truly understanding who we are building for, we can’t create technology that is intuitive, meaningful or lasting. This belief is what drives my passion for User Experience Research - translating all these insights and research into better product designs. This is why I am currently looking for roles in areas such as UX Research, or adjacent fields in the tech industry such as Product Management or IT.
